From launches to live events, webinars to charity walks, we highlight some of our stand-out moments from this year.
Following a brand repositioning in 2023, we again worked with womenswear label Self-Portrait to develop a new editorial-style theme, this time with a focus on large images and an abundance of videos.
The website also benefited from careful consideration for users with accessibility requirements as well as the addition of a loyalty programme.
After graduating from The Royal College of Art at the turn of the millennium, Alice Temperley founded fashion and lifestyle label Temperley London.
Temperley London approached By Association Only to migrate its online stores from Magento to Shopify.
The company also wanted to revolutionise its design as well as completely overhaul its tech stack to increase conversion and improve retention rates.
September saw the launch of a website for beauty brand Lumene, which is recognised worldwide for its use of Finnish water and wildcrafted Nordic ingredients.
Lumene approached By Association Only to migrate its existing store from Salesforce to Shopify.
The brand also wanted to design a serene site that reflects its Nordic love of the environment and tells the story of its natural ingredients.
Another launch was for outdoor clothing and accessory brand Outsiders Store. The company approached By Association Only to migrate its online store from Magento to Shopify.
It also wanted to revolutionise its existing design to create a minimalist, premium aesthetic that’s editorial in style and nods to the aesthetic of its physical stores.
September was a super busy month with several launches, including a new website for the family-run lighting business Lights4fun.
The company, which was set up by Tim and Jo Naughton in 2003, approached By Association Only to create a lifestyle destination and revolutionise its site’s aesthetic.
Lights4fun also wanted more flexibility for content, enhanced marketing opportunities and the superior functionality offered by a bespoke Shopify 2.0 theme.
Early Shopify adoptor Skinnydip London launched its first phone case design in 2011. The brand has since gone on to offer clothing and accessories, as well as phone cases, to trend-focused females.
By Association Only worked with Skinnydip to update its website to Shopify 2.0 and reimagine its aesthetic in line with the recent brand redesign. Improving site speed was also an important factor.
Last month we launched a website for a new sportswear label VEYND, the brainchild of the founders of fashion brand The Kooples.
The sportswear company offers alternative, darker sports pieces for the fashion-forward fitness fanatic that until now have been hard to find.
VEYND approached By Association Only to mirror this darker aesthetic online. We also maximised the brand’s opportunity to story-tell through full-page immersive campaign films and images.
October saw some of the team hop on a plane to Los Angeles for Shopify’s 2023 Enterprise Partner Summit.
Over 600 people attended to event, which was packed with interesting talks and presentations from senior players at Shopify.
London-based ecommerce consultancy and paid media agency Vervaunt hosted the second Pulse Ecommerce Summit, this time at at EartH in London.
The event, which took place on Thursday 8 June, saw more than 800 people from across the ecommerce industry register for a day of networking, thought-provoking talks and all the fun.
After an inspiring day of panel discussions – including one featuring By Association Only’s very own Head of Strategy, George Linton – the magnificent magician John Duffet and live DJ band Brass and Decks entertained the crowd.
In March search and product discovery technology company Klevu hosted the inaugural Discovered festival at Sea Containers House in London.
The event, which took place on Thursday 23 March, saw nearly 200 attendees from across the ecommerce industry gather for a day of inspirational talks and thought-provoking panel discussions – including one featuring By Association Only’s very own strategic director, George Linton.
We had a great time at Klaviyo's k:LDN event in June, hearing from some really interesting and inspirational speakers – including retail legend Mary Portas.
May saw our co-founder and creative director Joe Trippett take part in a webinar on harnessing the power of omnichannel ecommerce with jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu and hosted by Klevu.
November saw By Association Only's strategic director George Linton share his thoughts on migration as part of a round table webinar hosted by Shopify.

We were super proud to see our client Snocks and its boxer shorts listed in the top three trending products purchased on Shopify this Black Friday. The news was shared by Shopify President Harley Finkelstein on LinkedIn.

This year many of our clients won awards for their websites including Lumune, which won three awards from the CSSDesignAwards – UI Design, UX Design and Innovation.
Self-portrait and Temperley London were each awarded an Awwwards Honourable Mention, CSSDA Special Kudos, CSSDA UI of the Day, CSSDA UX of the Day and CSSDA Innovation Award.
Finally, Oh Polly was shortlisted in the International Excellence category in the Drapers Awards.
The team walked 3,310 miles – the distance from our office in Cambridgeshire, UK to Shopify’s headquarters in Ottawa, Canada – for Cancer Research UK.
That’s the equivalent of 7,474,642 steps, which we walked collectively as a team over September 2023. The aim was to raise money for Cancer Research UK, a charity dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
