World renowned fashion designer, Michael Van der Ham has designed costumes for Björk in 2011 and was approached by costume designer Suttirat Larlarb and director Danny Boyle to design 250 costumes for one of the sequences of the London Olympics Opening Ceremony in July 2012.

Our challenge was to translate the tactile, delicate and vibrant clothing line Michael is renowned for into a visually consistent e-Commerce store. We had to deliver an e-Commerce website that flowed as beautifully as the dresses throughout every user user touch point. Our UX team implemented an intuitive modular grid system allowing strong product and catwalk photography to take centre stage, culminating in a unique shopping experience.

Strong editorial for a social landscape

We understood the importance of capturing the brand’s authenticity, something we discovered was evident throughout their social media channels. It was our challenge to re-create the connection between the brand and its thousands of followers so our design team sought to capture this by pulling all of this information together and presenting it one place. By aggregating all of that content in a "Social Wall", customers could easily discover the latest updates, press releases, behind the scenes catwalk imagery and stay connected to the brand’s social media channels.

Since launching in 2014 Michael Van der Ham have seen an increase in customer engagement on the website and through their social media channels.
