Connect with your customers using the new Shopify Chat
Shopify chat has launched allowing merchants to connect with customers and help them find the products they want.
It's common knowledge that live chat is hugely beneficial to your store's conversion rates when utilised correctly, so it's no surprise that there's already a huge amount of third-party apps that offer chat functionality. Large companies such as Zendesk, Intercom and Tidio offer live chat across most platforms and have bespoke Shopify apps, but most of these come with a cost and offer complex functionality that new merchants won't want to commit to. How to use it
STEP1: INSTALL SHOPIFY PING ON AN IOS DEVICE
The only requirement is that you have the Shopify Ping app installed on an iOS device, which can be done from the Apple App Store. Shopify Ping is a free iOS app that you can use to manage messages from your customers, who can use channels like Facebook Messenger and Apple Business Chat. Once you've installed the Ping app, you just need to login using your Shopify store credentials.
STEP @: INSTALL THE SHOPIFY CHAT APP
To install Shopify Chat, you just need to add the app from the Shopify App Store. Once you have Shopify Chat setup, customers will be able to contact you through any page of your eCommerce store.
STEP 3: CONNECT SHOPIFY CHAT TO PING
Navigate to the Ping home screen and go to apps, then go to Shopify Chat and enable in Ping. Simple as that!
Sell, sell, sell!
Now that Shopify Chat is setup, you'll be able to talk to active users and help guide them to that all important sale. What's more, unlike some chat widgets, if the customer navigates away from your store the conversation is saved until their next visit.
